The Villa

Kogalla (near Galle), Sri Lanka

Tranquil elegance in the countryside

The luxury villa lies within a large private garden, with a separate outdoor infinity pool and pool house pavilion. The villa features a wide colonial-style veranda that wraps around three sides of the house and is designed to take maximum advantage of the views over the rice paddies and the cooling breezes off the valley. The villa combines a sophisticated collection of Dutch colonial-era antiques, contemporary hand-crafted furniture and modern Sri Lankan art pieces to create an experience that is both chic and comfortable.

Bedrooms

The two en-suite Master Suites have iconic king size four-poster beds, whilst the other two large bedrooms feature queen size sleigh beds with walk-in wardrobes, private ensuites and outdoor showers. All of the bedrooms have A/C and ceiling fans. Each ensuite bedroom features 300 thread count luxury bed linen, custom built wardrobes incorporating individual private safes and specially selected bathroom amenities.

Living & Dining

Ivory House’s generously sized sitting room features a custom-made sofa and armchairs that are positioned to take advantage of the views of the lush gardens. The room is equipped with satellite TV, a DVD player (with library), a Bose sound dock and WiFi. The dining room, similarly, features views to the gardens and is immediately accessible from the fully equipped kitchen.

The wide veranda features a number of different lounging and dining settings all designed to take advantage of the tropical climate. Perfect either for quietly relaxing with a book and a cup of tea or enjoying communal mealtimes with friends and family.

Pool & Gardens

The large 20 metre infinity swimming pool has it’s own pool house pavilion, perfect for long, lazy lunches during a day in the sun. The pavilion also has shower and bathroom facilities. Sun beds and a large day bed set in the gardens provide comfortable lounging space for all guests.

The tropical gardens also provide numerous options for al fresco dining and for viewing some of Sri Lanka’s exotic wildlife including peacocks, kingfishers, mongoose and the occasional cheeky monkey.
